CVE-2026-93536 is a use-after-free vulnerability in GestureBuildSprite affecting X.Org Server versions before 21.1.25 and Xwayland versions before 24.1.14. When a window is destroyed, WindowGone() repairs touch sprite traces but does not check or clean gesture sprite traces. Consequently, gesture sprites retain stale WindowPtr references, leading to use-after-free in gesture sprite processing.

A vulnerability affecting Fedora 44's xorg-x11-server-Xwayland package, addressed by advisory FEDORA-2026-2448dda850. It is identified as the source of the plugin's CVSS v2 base score of 6.8; its technical cause is not described.
A use-after-free in X.Org X server gesture handling. GestureBuildSprite() copies window pointers without lifetime management, and window destruction leaves stale references in gesture sprite traces. DeliverOneGestureEvent() subsequently dereferences a freed window pointer, potentially disclosing four bytes of freed memory. The advisory assigns CVSS 3.1 score 5.3, with local access, high attack complexity, low privileges, low confidentiality impact, and high availability impact. The upstream fix is included in xorg-server 21.1.25; affected Amazon Linux packages are listed as pending a fix.
A vulnerability affecting Alpine Linux xorg-server and related packages, identified as the plugin's CVSS score source. The displayed CVSS v3 score is 9.8, with network access, low complexity, no required privileges or user interaction, and high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. The technical mechanism is not described. Updating to version 21.1.25-r0 or later is the stated remediation.
A use-after-free vulnerability in GestureBuildSprite, included in the X.Org security advisory affecting FreeBSD packages. The plugin identifies this CVE as its CVSS score source and reports a CVSS v3 base score of 7.8. Security fixes are available in xorg-server 21.1.25 and xwayland 24.1.14.
