CVE-2026-7273 is a stack-based buffer overflow in the CGI program of Zyxel GS1900-series switch firmware. Inadequate bounds checking of attacker-supplied HTTP request data can corrupt a stack-allocated buffer, potentially enabling operating-system command execution without authentication. The vulnerability is described as LAN-based, although exploitation of internet-exposed switches has also been reported. Ten models are affected through their respective 2.90 model-specific firmware builds, including GS1900-48HPv2 through 2.90(ABTQ.1)C0.

A stack-based buffer overflow in Zyxel GS1900 switch firmware permits unauthenticated remote code execution through crafted HTTP requests to the web interface, without privileges or user interaction. The reported CVSS score is 8.8. GreyNoise observed exploitation beginning August 17, 2026, with data theft from 996 compromised switches across 48 countries, including hashed root credentials, configuration data, and networking information. CISA added the vulnerability to its KEV catalog on September 21, 2026, and flagged it for forensic triage. A Python-based exploit was analyzed, although the article states that no fully functional public proof-of-concept was available. Firmware patches were released June 16, 2026; no workaround mitigations are available.
A memory-corruption vulnerability listed in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and reported as actively exploited in the wild.
A CVSS 8.8 stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability in ZyXEL GS1900 switches that permits unauthenticated remote OS command execution through a specially crafted HTTP request. It was actively exploited to steal root credential hashes, device configurations, and network information from affected switches worldwide.
