CVE-2025-21042 is a memory corruption vulnerability in Samsung's libimagecodec.quram.so image-processing library, caused by an out-of-bounds write during parsing of crafted TIFF/DNG image content. The flaw affects Samsung Galaxy devices running firmware prior to Samsung's April 2025 Security Maintenance Release. Insufficient bounds checking while processing attacker-controlled image data can overwrite adjacent memory and corrupt execution state, enabling arbitrary code execution in the context of the Samsung image-processing component. The vulnerability is remotely reachable through delivery of a malicious image file to any application or service path that causes the vulnerable library to parse the image, including messaging-driven media handling workflows.
