CVE-2025-1316 is an operating system command injection vulnerability affecting all versions of the Edimax IC-7100 IP camera. Improper neutralization of special elements in configuration requests allows a remote authenticated attacker to inject commands into the NTP_serverName parameter through the ipcamSource configuration option of the administrative CGI handler. Successful exploitation enables remote code execution on the device. Exploitation has been observed since at least May 2024, including attacks by two Mirai-based botnets using default credentials. Additional Edimax devices and firmware may be affected, but the complete scope has not been established.

A command injection vulnerability in the Edimax IC-7100 network camera enabling remote code execution; exploited to deploy Mirai variants.
A critical command injection vulnerability in Edimax IC-7100 IP cameras that allows a remote authenticated attacker to achieve remote code execution via specially crafted requests to /camera-cgi/admin/param.cgi.
An authenticated command injection vulnerability affecting Edimax network cameras, including the IC-7100. Attackers inject commands through the NTP_serverName parameter to download and execute Mirai payloads. Exploit attempts were recorded as early as May 2024, and a public proof of concept dates to June 2023. At least two botnets exploit the flaw. The full affected device and firmware scope is uncertain, and the retired IC-7100 will not receive further updates.
