CVE-2024-55956 is a critical vulnerability in Cleo Harmony, VLTrader, and LexiCom before version 5.8.0.24. The flaw allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to import and execute arbitrary Bash or PowerShell commands on the underlying host by abusing the products’ default Autorun directory behavior. Files placed in the Autorun directory are automatically interpreted, and an attacker can leverage the products’ import functionality to place crafted content that triggers command execution during processing. The issue affects default configurations and enables remote exploitation without prior authentication.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (cleo_rce_cve_2024_55956.rb) that exploits an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2024-55956) in Cleo LexiCom, VLTrader, and Harmony (versions 5.8.0.23 and below). The exploit leverages an unauthenticated file write via the '/Synchronization' HTTP endpoint to drop malicious configuration and payload files into the application's working directories. The exploit then triggers the application's autorun mechanism to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user. The module supports multiple payload types, including Java Meterpreter and OS command shells, and is weaponized for use within the Metasploit framework. The code includes logic for target fingerprinting, payload delivery, and cleanup. The main attack vector is network-based, requiring only HTTP access to the vulnerable service. The repository is well-structured, with all exploit logic contained in a single Ruby file following Metasploit conventions.
