CVE-2020-3259 is an information-disclosure vulnerability in the web services interface of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software. A buffer-tracking issue during parsing of invalid URLs allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to send a crafted GET request and retrieve device memory. The vulnerability affects specific AnyConnect and WebVPN configurations. Disclosed memory can expose confidential information, including VPN credentials and cryptographic session material. Akira ransomware operators have exploited the vulnerability.
