CVE-2020-10173 comprises multiple authenticated command-injection vulnerabilities in the ping and traceroute diagnostic functions of Comtrend VR-3033 routers running firmware DE11-416SSG-C01_R02.A2pvI042j1.d26m. An attacker with at least minimum-privilege access to the router's web interface can inject shell metacharacters into diagnostic input, including the pingIpAddress parameter, to execute arbitrary commands on the device. Successful exploitation can give the attacker full control of the router and compromise its managed network. Exploitation by Mirai variants has been observed.
