CVE-2018-7841 is an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability affecting Schneider Electric U.motion Builder 1.3.4 in the track_import_export.php export functionality. User-controlled input, particularly the object_id parameter, is incorporated into an SQLite query string used to build a WHERE clause. That query is then passed through application code that constructs a shell command invoking the sqlite executable and executes it via PHP exec(). Although the product attempted to address an earlier related issue by escaping the dollar sign character, the input handling remained incomplete and could be bypassed with other shell metacharacters, allowing attacker-controlled input to break out of the intended query context and achieve command execution. The issue is described as a SQL injection flaw that effectively results in command execution because the injectable query is embedded in a shell command.
