CVE-2014-9118 is an OS command injection vulnerability in the web administrative portal of Zhone zNID GPON 2426A devices running firmware earlier than S3.0.501. Shell metacharacters supplied through the ipAddr parameter of the ping diagnostic handler allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the device's host operating system. The vulnerability is also associated with related Zhone router series and has been exploited by Mirai.TBOT and EnemyBot.
