CVE-2013-2551 is a use-after-free vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6 through 10. A crafted website triggers access to a deleted object, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. VUPEN demonstrated exploitation at Pwn2Own during CanSecWest 2013. The vulnerability was subsequently incorporated into multiple exploit kits, including RIG, Angler, Nuclear Pack, and HiMan.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (ms13_037_svg_dashstyle.rb) that exploits an integer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2013-2551) in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 SP1. The exploit targets a flaw in the handling of dashstyle.array lengths in the vgx.dll module, allowing for arbitrary code execution via heap spraying and a ROP chain. The module supports two ASLR bypass methods: an information leak using specific versions of ntdll.dll, or a ROP chain leveraging Java Runtime Environment 6 if present. The exploit is weaponized, allowing the attacker to deliver customizable Metasploit payloads (such as Meterpreter shells) to the victim's browser. The module sets up an HTTP server to deliver the malicious HTML/JavaScript to the target browser. The exploit will only proceed if the target's environment matches the required configuration (correct ntdll.dll version or JRE6 present), otherwise it returns a 404 error to avoid crashing incompatible targets. The code is structured as a typical Metasploit browser exploit, with options for JavaScript obfuscation and ROP method selection.
