CVE-2011-3402 is a vulnerability in the Microsoft Windows kernel-mode TrueType font parsing engine caused by improper handling of specially crafted font data. An attacker can trigger arbitrary kernel-mode code execution through a document containing an embedded malicious font or a web page embedding TrueType fonts. Affected versions include Windows XP SP2 and SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, and Windows 7 original release and SP1. Windows Developer Preview was also affected. Server Core installations of Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 are exposed only to local privilege escalation, not the web-based or file-sharing attack scenarios. Duqu exploited the vulnerability in targeted attacks in November 2011; it was subsequently incorporated into exploit kits.

A remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows kernel-mode TrueType font parsing engine in win32k.sys. Crafted font data embedded in a Word document or web page can trigger arbitrary code execution. Duqu exploited the vulnerability in the wild in November 2011.
A Windows kernel (win32k.sys) TrueType font parsing remote code execution vulnerability triggered via malicious font files in documents or web pages.
A Windows TrueType font-parsing vulnerability used for privilege escalation during the second stage of AliGater's infection chain. Successful exploitation enables process injection and elevated execution of subsequent stages, ultimately deploying Lumma stealer. The suspected connection to Magniber does not establish ransomware use of this vulnerability.
A critical remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows kernel-mode driver caused by improper handling of specially crafted TrueType font files.
