CVE-2008-4128 is a set of cross-site request forgery vulnerabilities in the HTTP Administration component of Cisco IOS 12.4, including deployments on Cisco 871 Integrated Services Routers. The web management interface exposes privileged IOS command execution paths through administrative HTTP endpoints and does not adequately validate request origin or implement anti-CSRF protections. As a result, a remote attacker can induce an authenticated administrator’s browser to submit crafted requests that invoke privileged commands through the web interface, including execution and configuration actions. Documented attack paths include abuse of endpoints that map to privilege-level command execution and HTTP configuration functions. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary command execution in the context of the device’s administrative interface.
