This repository contains a single Metasploit module implementing a remote exploit for the MS06-040 vulnerability (CVE-2006-3439) in Microsoft Windows Server Service (NetApi32.dll). The exploit targets a stack buffer overflow in the CanonicalizePathName() function, reachable via the NetpwPathCanonicalize RPC call over SMB. The module is weaponized, supporting customizable payloads (up to 370 bytes) and multiple Windows targets (NT 4.0, 2000 SP0-SP4, XP SP0-SP1, 2003 SP0). It automatically detects the target OS version and adjusts the exploit accordingly. The attack vector is network-based, requiring access to the SMB service (TCP ports 445 or 139). The exploit communicates with the target using DCERPC over named pipes (default: BROWSER or SRVSVC).
