RDPSocksProxy is a C++ SOCKS4/5 proxy utility used by the Feral Wolf cybercriminal group during ransomware intrusions targeting Russian retail, construction, manufacturing, and information-technology organizations. It tunnels bidirectional TCP traffic through an existing Windows Remote Desktop Protocol session by using an RDP Dynamic Virtual Channel, enabling traffic to be relayed within otherwise legitimate RDP communications. The utility interfaces with the MsRdpEx RDP channel and was used to support covert communications and movement after compromise.
