VAULT PANDA, also tracked as UNC6588, is a China-nexus threat actor associated with rapid exploitation of newly disclosed web application vulnerabilities. The group incorporated React2Shell exploitation into active operations within 24 hours of the vulnerability's public disclosure in December 2025. React2Shell enables unauthenticated remote code execution in React Server Components and Next.js applications. VAULT PANDA's operations have included deploying implants, remote access trojans, and reconnaissance utilities across multiple victims, followed by post-exploitation activity including credential harvesting. Its rapid, systematic exploitation reflects close monitoring of vulnerability disclosures, prompt validation of exploitability, and pre-staging of tooling for deployment against vulnerable systems.
