UNC6600 is a China-nexus espionage cluster associated with exploitation of the critical React Server Components vulnerability CVE-2025-55182, also known as React2Shell, for initial access into exposed React and Next.js environments. The group has been observed delivering MINOCAT, a Linux tunneling utility based on Fast Reverse Proxy functionality, to maintain covert access to compromised networks. Observed UNC6600 tradecraft includes exploitation of internet-facing applications for remote code execution, execution of shell scripts on compromised Linux hosts, deployment of tunneling software for hidden network access, and establishment of persistence through multiple mechanisms including cron jobs, systemd services, and shell initialization modifications. The actor has also been linked to creation of hidden directories and process manipulation during post-compromise activity. The use of MINOCAT indicates an emphasis on durable access and stealthy operator connectivity rather than smash-and-grab monetization. UNC6600 is tracked as part of broader Chinese cyber-espionage activity exploiting newly disclosed vulnerabilities at speed. Available reporting directly supports its role as an espionage-motivated intrusion cluster, but does not provide high-confidence victim-country or sector-specific attribution for this cluster alone.
