AnonGhost, also known as Anon Ghost and anon_ghost, is a pro-Palestinian hacktivist collective targeting Israel and the United States. Its operations combine politically motivated disruption, deceptive messaging, and reconnaissance, with particular attention to Israeli civilian-facing mobile services and exposed U.S. infrastructure. It has collaborated with DragonForce Malaysia. In October 2023, AnonGhost exploited a vulnerability in Israel’s Red Alert rocket-warning application to deliver false emergency notifications, including fabricated nuclear-attack warnings. This activity abused a trusted civilian warning service to spread disinformation during the Israel–Hamas conflict. The group has also been associated with malicious RedAlert-themed Android clones used to collect sensitive information from Israeli users. During conflict-related hacktivist mobilization in March 2026, AnonGhost publicized large-scale scanning of U.S. network ranges. Its reconnaissance activity included port scanning and publication of target-range lists, serving both operational preparation and propaganda. Its geographic origin and any state sponsorship are not established.
